Weekend Blessings
During 2019, PHP filled backpacks that fed over 650 hungry children each week. These children were selected by Hernando schools as food insecure to receive a backpack of food every weekend. A donation of $150 would feed a child for the entire school year, but any amount would help.
Sunday Blessing
Since 2009, PHP has provided a hot meal each week to food insecure families and individuals. Each Sunday afternoon, a group of volunteers serve with dignity a hot meal to the homeless, working poor, low-income families and seniors who come to the HELP Center (or if requested, a meal to go). Most meals are provided by local restaurants, clubs, religious groups, and civic organizations.
Senior Blessings
Supplemental groceries are needed by many seniors in Hernando County because their Social Security and retirement checks just too small. Many have to choose between eating and paying their rent or other bills. PHP supplies groceries to nearly 200 seniors in Hernando County each month.
Neighborhood Blessings
Those who have found themself homeless, often have little idea of what to do. Your donation will help PHP provide meals, groceries, toiletries, camping supplies, and other basic necessities for them.
